On 10 December 1966 Sambalpur University Act was handed by the Orissa Legislature for establishment of a University within the Western a half of Orissa. This institute began from 1 January 1967. The primary Vice-Chancellor of this varsity was Prof. Parsuram Mishra. First, the University began functioning in 1967 in a rented personal building at Dhanupali, Sambalpur; then in a authorities building at Ainthapali, Sambalpur.
In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla.Additionally it is a delegated ‘Manuscript Conservation Centre’ (MCC) below the National Mission for Manuscripts established in 2003.The current campus of the University is situated at Burla, 2 km away from NH 6.

One can enjoy the green scenery during winter and rainy season. This varsity is nicely generally known as the knowledge hub of Western Orissa.There are ten postgraduate hostels within the University campus out of which four are girls’ hostels and six are men’s hostels.
The university gives several facilities to the boarders in the hostels like common room with tv, reading room with newspaper and magazine, guest room, first aid, STD phone booth, etc. The central canteen has been opened close to the hostel campus for the profit of students.

sambalpur college provide distance mode of education with the study center NICE.However the NICE doesn’t supply the qulity and quantity education. The Direcetor from the center are just money minded.They spoil the carrer from the student.I wish to complain againt the college.So please supply the detail address where i’m able to lunch the complain.
