Established under the Act Of State Government- “The Rajasthan University Of Health Sciences Act, 2005” (Act No. 1 of 2005)”on 25 day February, 2005, the University aims to disseminate and advance knowledge in medical and health sciences.

The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences provides academic and research facilities in various streams to the students studying in various Government Colleges (Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy & Paramedical) and private colleges/institutions affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.

8 medical colleges, 10 Dental Colleges (BDS), 4 Dental Colleges (MDS), 43 B.Sc. Nursing Colleges, two M.Sc. Nursing Colleges, 6 Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Colleges, 41 PHARMACY COLLEGES (B. PHARMCY), 27 PHARMACY COLLEGES (D. PHARMA), 30 Bachelor of Physiotherapy Collges (BPT), 2 Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) colleges and 4 M-Pharma colleges, while each of Bachelor of Occupational Therapy College (BOT), B.SC. Radiation Technology College, Post Basic Diploma In Oncology Nursing College, B.SC. (HONS.) Ophtmalmic Technology College and Baslp College are affiliated to this university.

P. P. S. Mathur, previously Seniour Professor, Neurosurgery and Medical Superintendent, Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Jaipur was made as first Vice-Chancellor of the University.The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences endeavours the process of making itself a leader in world medical education by focusing on the systemic instructions, teaching, training and research activities.
