The examination is held on the last Sunday in April and results are introduced close to the top of May. Candidates are ranked on an all-India basis and also in line with their position in state. Although nearly a million students take the exam solely small percentage of scholars are eligible for central counselling or state-particular or class-specific counselling on foundation of their AIR. Counseling for SC/ST candidates and SC/ST physically handicappe candidates is completed on the first two days. Then the physically handicapped in the Open (OP) class are counselled.

The MHRD also plans to set up new NITs in states that do not have any as of now. In case NITs aren’t built by the point admissions begin for AIEEE 2010, then seats will probably be made accessible for eligible students of such states/UTs which shouldn’t have any NIT, so as to keep the variety of seats for such states/UTs at the degree of 2007, after making due adjustment for the number of seats crammed by eligible candidates of those states/UTs.
